This issue might occur due to outdated or corrupted Game controller drivers.
Method 1: Update drivers from Device Manager.
1. Press Windows + X.
2. Select Device manager.
3. Find game pad controller diver.
4. Right click on the device and select Update drivers.

Update the driver. In case you are using a gamepad that supports Windows 10 update the driver to its latest version. If you are using an older gamepad that doesn’t fully support Windows 10, you may need to run the driver in Windows 7 or Windows 8 compatibility mode. Method2: If issue persists Install the Game controller drivers in compatibility Mode and check if that helps.
Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.
Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

- Turn on the Xbox 360 wireless controller by pressing and holding the Guide button .
- On the receiver, press the connect button, which is a circular button located near the middle of the receiver. The light will flash green.
